Ye gods, rabbit, let’s get one thing straight.
Most people, if they don’t want to do something, will eventually overcome the “I don’t want to hurt so-an-so’s feelings” instinct and tell you. Or they’ll stop talking to you. Asking like that, though, or worse being passive aggressive about someone spending time doing other things, will drive people away.
That question makes an RP partner feel incredibly awkward. It’s like “Gee, I kinda did want to RP a little, but I was feeling kinda down/wasn’t feeling my character/wanted to do something else for a little while and needed some space. But now I’m feeling like absolute shit for taking time to keep my sanity and feel like crap for not forcing RP at the expense of my own enjoyment, just to make you feel like you’re getting enough attention.”
People will tell you. If it’s been too long, hey, move on. Maybe they really didn’t want to RP more. There are a ton of reasons. But asking like that, or getting passive-aggressive and just reblogging the rabbit are good ways to make RP partners feel like shit and pull away from you.
